Fried Chicken in San Diego

• Jimmy's Family Restaurants, 9635 Mission Gorge Rd (and Olive Lane, SE, west of Cuyamaca), Santee (619) 448-8994. First, Jimmy's in Santee serves a very nice Boasted Chicken Dinner that is wonderful!
• Second, I'd recommend a little place on the 4700 block of El Cajon Blvd, El Cajon Blvd and 49th. South East corner. Written on mmm-yoso about October 16 under "What Cathy eats!")   Ate here November 1st, 2008. Quality of chicken was not great and the 2 white pieces (of 10) had almost no meat on them.
• Huffman's Bargeque & Catering, 5039 Imperial Ave (west of Euclid Ave), San Diego (619) 264-3115 I've found the fried chicken at Huffman's pretty darn good. Prepared to order, so there's a bit of a wait, but you can call ahead. Huffman's is on the south side of Imperial, just west of Euclid.

• Chicken Pie Shop, 2633 El Cajon Blvd (west of Oregon St), North Park, San Diego, (619) 295-0156. Chicken Pie Shoppe has best fried chicken in San Diego city limits. • I saw fried chicken on the menu at DZ Akins the other night, but I don't know if it's any good. Kinda out of the way if you're in La Jolla too, I suppose.

• Hash House A Go Go - sage fried chicken and bacon waffles with maple reduction. So damn good; they've also got a Fried Chicken breakfast and a fried chicken benedict, I highly recommend the benny.
